QA Engineer — Elcomplus LLC

Radiusip — a client–server digital radio dispatch system for industrial sites. As one of eight engineers on the QA team, tested server components, web, desktop and mobile clients, the REST API and the integrations between them.

Responsibilities:
- Tested new and modified functionality, including end-to-end user scenarios and interaction between system components.
- Analyzed requirements, wrote and reviewed test cases, checklists and bug reports, and aligned on expected system behavior with developers and product stakeholders.
- Tested the REST API in Postman: status codes, response body structure and data types, behavior with invalid parameters.
- Used SQL queries to verify that data in PostgreSQL and MS SQL matched the results of UI and API scenarios.
- Tracked changes commit by commit, ran builds in GitLab CI/CD and deployed test benches on Linux and Windows covering server components, engineer and dispatcher clients, and radio equipment — repeaters and radios.
- Tested mobile applications on emulators and real devices, both smartphones and terminals (via Vysor), and analyzed system logs (ADB Logcat) to pinpoint defects.
- Isolated defects to the client side (UI), server logic (API), database or network layer using Chrome DevTools, Wireshark and log analysis (NLog, client and server logs).
Achievements:
- Reported 100+ confirmed defects, 20 of them Critical or Blocker.
- Restored the IMAP integration: found during retesting that it worked with none of the mail services, traced the cause with a developer to a provider-side setting, and documented the correct configuration.
- Drove fixes for defects previously closed as not reproducible, after establishing that reproduction depended on differences in audio hardware between test benches and developer machines.
- Built an internal Python service that tracks which test-bench laptops are in use, replacing manual coordination between the development and QA teams.
